Stowey Green Spaces will be carrying out management work at Stowey Wood over the next month.
We have a community event this weekend (Sunday 19th September – from 10.00am to 3.00pm), to coincide with the national Great Big Green Week (18-25 September), when we plan to clear an area of bramble to create space for timber storage and to improve the upper loop footpath to be used as an alternative while the main track through the wood is subject to disruption.
We will also need to remove a pedestrian footbridge for the duration of the horse-logging works, which will commence on Monday 27th September and will last Monday-Thursday for the next three weeks.
The footbridge will be reinstated when the work is complete (mid-October).
There will inevitably be disruption to walkers through Stowey Wood , especially if the weather is poor and the horses churn up the ground.
Please see the ‘Event Website’ for further information.
